1. How far away are the shops?
There are two supermarkets in Bessines which is 5 minutes drive from the lake. There is a massive hypermarket 15 minutes south of the lake towards Limoges.
2. How deep is the lake?
It runs from 2 feet deep where the stream runs into the lake down to 18 feet at the dam.
3. Do you need to net your baits?
There are no Poisson Chat and very few crayfish so you can use small or soft baits without any problems.
4. Are there toilet and shower facilities?
The shower /toilet block is beside the lake on the dam.
5. How much bait will I need?
As the carp are always on the move around the lake we have found that feeding on a little but often basis is better than piling the bait in. 5 kilos of boilies and a 25 kilo bag of pellets should be sufficient for a weeks holiday.
6. Do I need sophisticated rigs and do pop ups work better than bottom baits?
The carp are more cautious than they were a couple of years ago. The rigs that you use in the UK will work well at Mirror Pool. Pop ups do work however we have found that bottom baits or snowman rigs work better.
7. Can I use a boat?
Boats are not allowed at Mirror Pool except bait boats which we do allow.
