1. How far away are the shops?
The nearest supermarket is in Nexon which is five minutes drive from the lake. There is a massive hypermarket in near Limoges twenty minutes drive away.
2. How deep is the lake?
From 2 feet in the bottom bay with most the lake averaging six feet to an area in front of the dam of 15 feet. The lake bed consists of silt and gravel parcels with no weed to worry about. There are plateaux islands, reeds and lilies. The carp constantly move between the features.
3. Are there Poisson Chat or crayfish in the lake?
There are no Poisson Chat but there are crayfish. These have not proved any problems and we regularly use 10mm baits.
4. Are there on site showers and toilet facilities?
The shower/toilets together with the kitchen and fridge freezer we make available to the anglers are situated in the millhouse at the dam end of the lake.
5. How much bait will I need for the week?
As the carp are constantly on the move around the lake between the various features the little and often approach works better than piling the bait in. 5 kilos of boilies and a 25 kilo sack of carp pellets should be sufficient for the week.
6. Do I need sophisticated rigs?
We have a large head of big carp in the lake with fishing restricted to only six months of the year. There is no weed or snags to contend with. We have found that basic bottom bait or snowman rigs work better than the more sophisticated rigs used in the UK.
7. Can we use a boat?
Boats are banned except for bait boats which are allowed as long as they don't interfere with other anglers.
